Creams compatible with reusable diapers
When using cloth diapers, it’s important to choose a diaper cream that’s compatible with them, as some diaper creams can stain the diaper fabric and reduce its absorbency.
Here’s how to determine whether a diaper cream is compatible with cloth diapers:
Check the cream ingredients

Not compatible
Petroleum derivative - paraffin - mineral oil - Cod liver oil - Ihle paste
These substances can create an impermeable barrier on the diaper fabric, preventing absorption.

Compatible Cream
White clay powder - Corn starch - Coconut oil - Oleo-limestone liniment
A cream that’s “compatible” with cloth diapers means that it won’t interfere with their absorption or effectiveness.
Problems caused by creams that are not compatible with cloth diapers?
In the case of a waterproofed diaper, don’t panic! The best way to solve this problem is to scrub it with a brush and dish soap to remove the grease. You can then wash it in hot water to restore it to its original condition.
